Just a thought on Life

It’s Thursday night, I don’t have class tomorrow, all my friends are off traveling, and I’ve done more studying than even I thought was possible this past week, so for this evening my plans include sitting in Rinaldo’s café, listening to Bob Dylan, and filling in all of the destinations I am missing on this blog. Afterwards I plan to watch an Italian film entitled Divorzia all’Italiana, or Divorce, Italian Style. The film is about the Italian honor code, which was just abolished in 1981, and which stated that a man could legally kill his wife if he discovered her cheating on him. In this film, a man really wants to divorce his wife, but she doesn’t consent…you can probably imagine what events follow. The film came up in discussions in two of my classes this week, and we happen to have it in the library here so I figured why not watch it.
A lot of my friends are off traveling this weekend but I have been craving alone time for weeks now. I have been hoping for a weekend alone with Rome. This school is quite the microcosm; an American island in an Italian sea; the kind that could make and introvert lose their mind, and I’m almost at that point. Therefore I plan to head out into the city of Rome tomorrow and Saturday, mapless, and wander my way around, just me, myself, and the Italians.
